Refugee and Immigrant Services live out the Gospel values of charity and justice by welcoming newcomers and providing free or low-cost legal and support services to immigrants and refugees in San Francisco, Marin and San Mateo Counties.
Catholic Charities CYO's builds good citizens through advocacy, education, legal immigration services, case management and civic engagement. Our Refugee & Immigrant Services exists to respond to the needs of immigrants seeking legal immigration help and support services. With offices in San Francisco and San Mateo, our agency helps families that have been separated by the migration experience to reunify through family visa petitions, helps legal residents gain citizenship, assists undocumented battered immigrant women and children gain legal status, provides advice and counsel on immigration legal matters.
Our agency is recognized by the Board of Immigration Appeals and staff are accredited to provide a broad range of immigration counseling and representation to immigrants and their families. Our goal is to help immigrants understand the immigration law and to their rights under the law. The program is designed to advise and guide clients through the immigration process in an efficient, effective and professionally caring manner. We also provide resettlement, case management, and referrals to retraining services for refugees and asylum-seekers who have fled war, persecution, and violence in their home countries.
The key mission of Refugee and Immigrant Services is to assist clients in achieving not just legal status and economic self-sufficiency, but in becoming fully active participants in the social and civic life of our communities.
