Programs and ServicesNews and EventsDonateVolunteerAbout Us

We started out by helping refugees and immigrants make the transition to their new cultural home in the 1950s. At the time, this program was all about giving direct financial assistance to clients, as well as translation and interpretive language services, referral to other places that could help them, and enduring support. The 1970s added to our list of programs: employment search assistance, naturalization help, and legal immigration services. Today, our collection of offerings includes English as a Second Language classes, job-readiness and retention advice, job development and placement, and citizenship classes. "We want to help our clients achieve not only legal status and economic self-sufficiency," says Director Christopher Martinez, "but also active participation in the social and civic lives of our communities."

We offer the following services:

  • Refugee resettlement
  • Weekly immigration workshops
  • Monthly workshops for victims of domestic violence and crime
  • Citizenship & immigration assistance
  • Referral to appropriate 3rd-party agencies
  • ESL/EL civics education classes
  • Citizenship & civic participation classes
  • Employment services (limited)
  • Case management services (by referral)
  • Translation & interpretation services
  • Voter registration
